Frequently Asked Questions

  • What's a typical wedding flower budget?

Roughly 10% of your wedding budget should be estimated for florals.

However, this varies depending on how much the couple would like to prioritize custom florals in the event.

  • How can I maximize my flower budget?

Explain to your florist the areas of importance to you, and let them know which areas are higher/lower priority. The better they can get to know you and your vision, the better they can guide you!

Find a florist you trust, and allow them to give you their professional opinion on what arrangements will be most impactful.

9 times out of 10 though, if you want to lower your costs, you need to lower your guest count!

  • Where do you get your flowers?

I love this question! The PNW is such an amazing place to be as a florist. I am able to source probably 90% of my flowers from local flower farms! I supplement a little bit from floral wholesalers (which includes both domestic and imported blooms).

My priority list when sourcing flowers is to start hyper-local in my city/county, then within the state, then within the west coast, then domestic, then imported as a last resort.

  • What is your service area?

We are located in the Eugene/Springfield area, and we work throughout Oregon regularly. We frequent Portland, Hood River, and the upper Willamette Valley.

We are open to travel in the PNW.

(Our A La Carte orders are for pick up ONLY in Eugene, OR.)

  • Why hire a professional florist?

While most people can cluster flowers together into a bouquet or pop them in a vase, we believe there’s a lot more that goes into a quality floral design! We have years of experience honing our skills, learning what works, and mastering our artistic style for floral design.

Here are the top 5 reasons to hire a professional florist (in my opinion):

    1. Hiring professionals who can take the responsibility entirely off your hands is the only way to TRULY enjoy your day free of stress and worry.

    2. We’re artists and we create unique and inspiring work. If you value some thing one-of-a-kind, inspired by your story, and memorable then hiring a florist you love is a no brainer.

    3. We handle the boring and difficult stuff for you. Do you want to spend weeks sourcing vases, doing the math on stem counts, prepping supplies, and then figuring out the best way to dispose of those items post-wedding? I doubt you do.

    4. We know how to handle weather challenges. Wind, heat, rain, and freezing temps can be a serious challenge when it comes to fresh florals. We know how to handle these scenarios.

    5. Our job is valuable and difficult. :)

  • What are your sustainability practices?

I deeply value doing my part (as an individual and small business) to care for our planet. After all, my medium comes directly from the earth.

Here are some of the ways that I am currently working to be sustainable and eco-friendly in my business:

    • Prioritizing local > imported product

    • Composting appropriate waste

    • Never using floral foam (feel free to Google the reasons why—there are lots of them!)

    • Prioritizing hard goods/supplies that can be reused or repurposed. Very little goes in the garbage.

    • Always being receptive to new ideas, information, and practices that can improve the way we practice sustainability.

  • What is an order minimum? Why do you have one?

I was hesitant for years to officially set an order minimum. My reason was that I love working with people who connect with my art—regardless of their budget range.

I still feel the exact same way about it, and at the same time… I’m a human running a small business who needs to make money in order to live. While I adore my job and my clients, I cannot take on every single wedding I’m requested for.

Through years of studying my finances, these minimums are where I’ve landed in a comfortable profit margin. Truth be told, these starting points are still very much on the low end of the profit margin that I’m comfortable with. They will need to go up over the years as inflation continues, and as my family’s needs fluctuate.

The other reason I decided to genuinely “set” these minimums as a standard practice (because every vendor has a minimum when it comes down to it… whether they say they do or not…) is because I want to be fully transparent with my clients. I want you to know 30 seconds in to visiting my website if you feel comfortable with the budget range. It’s not fair to you to have to inquire, get a quote, and then realize we’re nowhere near a fit for your budget.

TLDR; This is the price point where I genuinely make enough money to do the job. I strive to be very transparent about money with my clients, so having a minimum takes some of the guess-work out of it for them when inquiring.

  • Where can I find your price list?

Flower pricing isn’t quite as obvious as other services are able to be because pricing varies by: size, quantity, flower types, style, density of the arrangement, travel costs, service time, special inventory requests for vases, etc. It’s simply too much to factor into a generic wedding package.

My wedding and event quotes are customized to the client’s specific needs. Creating a generic package just simply doesn’t allow me enough room to make the designs feel individualized to the client, which is a priority for me!

You can view our starting price points on our Weddings + Events page to start out.

That said, getting a quote isn’t difficult or time consuming! Just submit our inquiry form, fill out our questionnaire, and we’ll schedule a quick consultation with you to get a feel for what you’re wanting so we can quote you accurately.

  • Do you only do flowers for weddings?

I specialize in wedding florals, and that is 98% of the work that I do.

I love when I get the opportunity to design for other types of events/special occasions. I love working with other creatives on styled shoots/content days, editorial shoots, brand shoots, and other creative projects.

I am a studio florist (not a retail shop florist), and I do not have a storefront for customers to purchase daily arrangements from at this time. I work out of a small design studio in Eugene, OR, and we’re open by appointment only for pick ups on A La Carte orders.

  • What's the story behind the name "Wrong Number"?

I wish I had a really cool story behind this, but here’s the gist…

When I decided to officially create my own floral business, I was looking through other florist’s names to see what was out there. I felt like naming your business after yourself or using an alliteration was so common. They all just seemed to blur together. I knew I couldn’t let my brand name be one that would be so easily forgotten.

My Enneagram 4 brain wouldn’t let me do what everyone else was doing, and I wanted to be unique, quirky, and something that would make people stop and think for a second about what I said my name was.

I started a note in my phone of quirky names that would pop in my head during those months. I probably had 25 of them to start with. I loved the idea of owning a flower shop and answering the phone by saying “wrong number!”

The heart behind the name is also from that twinge of imposter syndrome that never really goes away as an artist. Sorry, you must have the wrong number… you couldn’t possibly be looking for me!

TLDR; I’m just a little weirdo.

  • What does your "Full Service" floral design option include?

I love to be able to accommodate different wedding sizes, so I offer 2 types of wedding services—Full Service and A La Carte.

FULL SERVICE florals, as the term implies, is fully handled by our team. You get to be completely hands-off, relax, and we take care of everything. There are some variables depending on the needs of the clients, but this type of job for us tends to include:

    Custom floral proposal and quote

Vase / floral supplies rentals (access to our full inventory)

We source all flowers, and properly condition them.

We design all the arrangements for you (the obvious part!).

On-location delivery, set up, and custom installations

If you need arrangements repurposed, we handle everything involved in that. We stay on-site throughout the ceremony so we can move the arrangement immediately following. We carefully move the arrangement, and we make any touch ups that may be needed due to moving the arrangement (or from weather).

Post-reception, we return to your location to clean up all flowers and rental items. Rental items must be returned to the florist immediately following the event, so we pick these up for you unless specially requested.

Nearly all of our mechanics, vases, and structural items are specifically chosen because they are reusable or sustainable. We take all of these items back with us, sort them, clean them, and prep them for their next use!

  • What does your "A La Carte" floral design option include?

Our alternate service type is to order your arrangements “a la carte”—great for elopements, small parties, etc.

A LA CARTE florals are our solution to creating smaller scale offerings during our busy season. We have some guidelines and rules for these orders in order to make them efficient and seamless for everyone (our clients and our team).

This type of job for us tends to include:

    Custom floral proposal and quote.

Vase / floral supplies sourcing for purchase—no access to rental inventory. Items do not need to be returned.

Local flower sourcing—we pretty exclusively use local blooms in our A La Carte orders. Flower selection is based on what is in season and available.

    Proper conditioning of all flowers.

We design all the arrangements for you.

These orders are for PICK UP ONLY in Eugene, OR from our design studio.

For A La Carte orders, you take on the responsibility for your florals beyond pick up. That means, you will make sure they stay properly hydrated until use, you will move them if they need to be repurposed, and you will clean them up after the event.
